Opis książkiLarge-capacity V-twins have always been the Harley-Davidson trademark, and the company has produced many trend-setting cruising bikes. In these, style has always been a vital ingredient, and the Glide series which began in 1949 with the Hydra-Glide and went on through the 1958 Duo-Glide and the 1965 Electra-Glide established a very special style. A look at Honda's Gold Wing makes quite clear that imitation is always the sincerest form of flattery. The FXR series was introduced in 1982, a year after the management buy-out led by Vaughn Beals which rescued Harley-Davidson from AMF ownership. Sales had dropped during the 1970s, and so had quality, but the FXR led the return to respect.
